Peripheral and Neuro-interventional radiologist highly motivated and dedicated to driving continuous improvement across all services to deliver immediate and measurable results within a new capacity. Focused on exploring affective solutions to enhance current best practices, improve standard procedures, optimize patient outcomes, and integrate new bleeding-edge technologies to strengthen service and develop further research and academic interest. To exhibit my expertise while developing and making considerable contribution for benefit of my country as being one of the pioneers in field of vascular interventional radiologist of Nepal and serve back my country from my field of expertise.

Professional Summary

  • Currently, I serve as the Assistant Professor at Patan Academy of health and sciences where I am focused on setting up and rebuilding the neurointerventional and peripheral interventional service. I am engaged in developing and supporting the Interventional practice since last 4 years in Kathmandu.
  • I have been trained in neurointervention and neurovascular diseases, with specialized skills in coiling brain aneurysms. I have assisted brain and spinal arteriovenous and dural malformations, tumour embolisation, and other neurointerventional procedures. I have been actively involved in adopting new technologies for mechanical thrombectomy and brain aneurysm treatment.
  • I have a been training my fellows and residents in my medical colleague in field of interventional radiology
  • I have expertise in peripheral, Oncology, vascular and neuro-interventional treatment and stroke treatment in my hospital.
  • I have experience in GI, renal, bronchial bleeder embolization, uterine artery pseudoaneurysm embolization, tumor chemotherapy in HCC, preop embolization for vascular tumors, PICC line, chemo-port insertion in oncological cases, Percutaneous nephrostomy and percutaneous biliary intervention, permanent dialysis catheter insertions are my regular to do lists. Besides these I am involved with lower limb veno/artertio plasty, varicose ablation, stenting and plasties in biliary and vascular cases. Carotid artery stenting, RCC preop-embolization, bilateral internal iliac artery placement in placenta accreta cases, thoracic duct embolization in chylothorax, Biopsy, FNAC and drainages are our routine cases.
  • I have demonstrated the ability to establish and lead highly effective vascular and neuro-interventional services from the ground up, while also improving and revitalizing previously established services.
  • I can proudly say that till date, PAHS is only government institution where we have started the neuro-interventional service with scope of stroke management in entire country NEPAL. Challenges I faced now looks small in comparison to the achievement I have received while building this up.

Current Positions

Feb 2020- 2022(Lecturer) 2024(Permanent job holder) till Present: Assistant Profession in Interventional Radiology

I focus on improving the Neuro-interventional Service in PAHS by collaborating with doctors and medical experts to evaluate current practices and performance metrics. I work on developing solutions, processes, and procedures that align with the service’s objectives. I am responsible for establishing new neuro-interventional and stroke services. I played an instrumental role in the cultivation of a high-performance workforces of interventionist, skilled nurses and radiographers through hands-on control of talent development including training, continued mentorship, and routine performance evaluations on interventional procedural assists and the investigation and diagnosis of neurovascular disease. I have delivered strategic, results-driven leadership for the successful management of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and SAH and stroke.

I am able to independently perform stroke interventions, preop embolization of tumors like meningioma and Juvenile nasophryngeal angiofibroma.

I have able to perform coiling of aneurysms independently. I am also trained in neurodiagnostic DSA, carotid artery stenting and angioplasty.
